About Ceiling Radiation Dampers
Hourly-rated floor/ceiling membranes are designed to protect a structure from heat and subsequent potential collapse. Vented fans installed in these assemblies penetrate the fire-resistive membrane. To protect the ducted opening against the spread of heat and fire, many local codes require the installation of a ceiling radiation damper. Installed between the housing and grille, the damper employs an insulation blanket that closes off the opening in an emergency by means of a heat-sensitive fusible link. The ceiling dampers below meet UL Standard 555C and are labeled for use in fire-resistive floor/ceiling membranes.

Ceiling Radiation Damper
- UL tested and labeled (UL Standard 555C) for use in 1, 2, and 3-hour floor-ceiling and roof-ceiling construction
- removable damper assembly and sleeve to allow easy motor replacement
- UL approved insulation blanket constructed of non-asbestos, high-temperature reinforced fiber thermal curtain
- Heat sensitive 165° replaceable fusible link
- .024 galvanized steel frame

Fan Housing
- One-piece, heavy gauge (.024) galvanized steel
- larger wiring compartment provides easy access and installation
- mounts directly to joists with mounting tabs
- housing available with 3" metal or plastic duct collar or 4" plastic duct collar
- extended discharge collar with built-in backdraft damper

Motor/Grille
- Available in 50 CFM or 70 CFM models
- Plug-in, permanently lubricated motor rated for 120 volts 60 Hz operation
- Removable motor plate with easy slide-in mounting
- attractive curved grille for efficient airflow and contemporary style
- larger grille covers more of rough-in area
- grille mounts directly to damper with torsion springs
- UL listed for use/shower with GFI branch circuit wiring
